I had a natural tendency to draw and colour in as a youngster and sold a few paintings to my high school art teachers. Then, like so many others, drifted into the joys of teenager and then parenthood. It has been such a joy returning to what I am naturally drawn to and totally immersing myself.
I have lived and worked in the Great Southern since 2003, mostly nursing. We are so lucky in this mountain country with such exquisite landscapes, world class flora and fauna at our doorsteps.
Being totally immersed in nature unravels my headspace and creates a pathway for creative flow. My current artistic love affair is with Pastel and Oils and the resulting creations taking form with a particular passion for flora and fauna and a desire to shine a spotlight on and preserve what we have.
Who knows what the next piece will be! This is where the joy of creative surprise lies. Influenced by our mood, the weather, our environment and the joy of like minded people. It gives us artistic license wherever our artistic journey takes us to be ‘ok’ Always learning always discovering, always enveloped by the effect this mountain country drizzles on our senses. That has to be good thing!
