"I particularly love our beautiful mountain country and all its flora and fauna"
I always loved art at school but for forty years I pursued a scientific career. During that time I collected paintings on a regular basis from all over the world. When I retired and moved from Perth to Albany ten years ago I met many of the wonderful artists residing in our beautiful part of WA. I learnt that many of them only started painting after retiring and they encouraged me to bare my soul and try painting myself! I enjoyed one of Andy Dolphin’s beginner’s classes at Albany Summer School and then eighteen months ago I joined one of Barry Mackie’s beginner’s classes in Mount Barker. It’s been with his generous guidance and encouragement that I have continued with my oil painting. There is nothing I find more fulfilling than spending time painting in my own studio area or with my fellow artists either in Barrie’s studio or other locations. I particularly love our beautiful mountain country and all its flora and fauna that provides plenty of inspiration for me to continue my painting journey.
